The Project.

Timeline of how it works.

I prefer to start with an innocent mind, initiating an unplanned trip, jumping on a bus, drifting into some part of London.

Once I see something I like, I get out and walk on the backstreets to see what’s going on. I look at new developments, but also at the old buildings, I look for people, schools, theatres & cinemas, NHS centres and what kind of shops are open (or closed!).

It is later, when I sit at the editing board, when I start to unfold what I saw, Only then does the research begin…

See the timeline below to understand what is the desired structure of this project and where it aims.

Starts with a Bus ride

The starting point is a simple normal man, with a camera and a 50mm lens, taking a bus ride and getting lost in the city, drifting, peeking behind the main roads, till finding some urban development or a story to tell...

Oh, this looks interesting..!

I walk the streets

Once I feel I reached a destination, I get out of the bus and walk across the back streets, venturing behind the scenes of the main road.

Observation

Now is the time to look, to see. Looking up, down, left and right, I snap around. Purposely I keep a snappy style of point & shot, I don't want to do 'street art photography' or unnecessarily embellish my images with pre-conceived drama.

Edit

Back home it is time to evaluate the treasures from the streets. A dedicated process of selection and editing helps to create the narrative of the story; playing with shapes, colours and contrasts, the drama unfolds.

Research

It is after the 'naive' editing that I do the research. What's behind the new development, who paid for the buildings, which architects have designed them, are they for rent, sale or offices? Who benefits, and who doesn't?

Website

Finally, I publish the selected images and articles on the Everybodyisgone.uk website,

The basic sections are called Outings and record each journey. Also the Galleries showcase a selection of the best images.

Eventually, new sections should open, regarding collaborations and new project outputs.

Collaborations

The final aim of this project is to welcome collaborations, and opening debate and studies amongst architects, journalists, city planners, universities and more.

The project also wants to expand to touring exhibitions and publications.

Showcase

Only after the collaboration period does this project want to be exhibited or published; always within the right context, linking the printed images with the outcomes of the dialogues with the professionals.
